Eovolt, a French company specializing in e-bikes, has created an impressive range of folding e-bikes and city bikes designed for individuals on the go. The Morning, Afternoon, and Evening models are the current offerings from Eovolt, with each model tailored to different preferences and requirements.
Prior to 2023, Eovolt utilized a rudimentary cadence sensor in their e-bikes, resulting in a jerky pedal assist. However, the 2023 model year sees all Eovolt bikes equipped with a modern torque sensor. This sensor allows for a less intrusive pedal assist and tailors the motor’s power output to the rider’s pedal force. This technology not only offers a smoother ride but also a more efficient one, with Eovolt reducing the bike’s weight by installing a smaller battery while retaining excellent range figures.

The Morning is the most accessible model, featuring a compact design with 16-inch wheels and a folding frame for easy storage and transportation. The Afternoon, designed for longer journeys, is slightly larger than the Morning and rolls on 20-inch wheels with a folding frame. The 2023 model year sees a new suspension fork installed, and the bike is 2.1 kilograms lighter, weighing in at 20.9 kilograms. The Afternoon’s downsized 378-watt-hour battery still allows for a range of up to 50 miles, thanks to the torque sensor. The Afternoon model retails for the equivalent of $2,658 USD.
