Engwe has introduced the Engine Pro 3.0 Boost, a foldable electric bicycle designed for off-road riding, featuring wide four-inch tires, dual suspension and a removable 720 Wh battery.
The official retail price has not been disclosed on the company’s website, but source code on the product page indicates €1,699. At 34.7 kilograms, the model is heavier than many foldable bikes, but comes with a hub motor delivering up to 90 Nm of torque managed by a torque sensor.
The Engine Pro 3.0 Boost also incorporates features uncommon in this segment, including an IoT module with a cellular modem, Bluetooth and GPS. A 3.5-inch color display provides ride data, while Shimano’s seven-speed Tourney gear system, hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear lights, mudguards, a luggage rack and a stand round out the equipment.
Engwe said the combination of wide tires, suspension fork and rear shock absorber is intended to improve handling and grip on challenging terrain.
