U.S.-based energy management firm Emporia Energy has unveiled its latest home EV charger, the “Pro,” featuring built-in load management technology and charging speeds up to nine times faster than standard 100V outlets.
Founded in 2018, Colorado-headquartered Emporia Energy has focused on providing affordable and efficient energy management solutions to homeowners. Its first EV charger, the “Classic,” received widespread acclaim in 2024 and is part of a broader platform designed to optimize residential power use without the need for expensive electrical panel upgrades.

The new “Pro” charger builds on that foundation with the addition of PowerSmart Load Management, a technology that dynamically adjusts EV charging based on real-time household energy consumption. The system integrates with Emporia’s Vue Home Energy Monitor, installed in the home’s electrical panel, to ensure that EVs charge at the maximum safe speed without overloading the home’s power capacity.
The Emporia Pro delivers charging rates of up to 48 amps when hardwired, or 40 amps via a NEMA 14-50 plug. It supports all J1772-equipped EVs, with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter for Tesla vehicles expected soon. The device also offers time-of-use scheduling to align with utility rate plans and can prioritize solar-only charging when connected with compatible home systems.

The UL-certified and Energystar-rated charger is NEMA-4-rated for durability and comes with a 25-foot cable and wall-mounted cable management system. The Emporia Pro EV charger is available for purchase at $599, including the Vue Home Energy Monitor.
