Eli Electric Vehicles has announced the opening of reservations for its Eli Zero micro-electric vehicle (EV) in the United States, priced at $11,990. The company, already successful in Europe and French Polynesia, where hundreds of vehicles are in use for various purposes, is now targeting the US market with its street-legal micro-EV.
The Eli Zero, measuring 4.5 feet wide and 7.4 feet in length, is designed to comfortably seat two people. It boasts a range of up to 90 miles and comes equipped with features like keyless entry and start, power-assisted steering, ABS, radar parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. Final specifications and configurations will be revealed during a full launch later this year.
Interested customers can reserve an Eli Zero by placing a $200 refundable deposit, with sales expected to commence in the third quarter of 2024, followed by deliveries. Eli Electric Vehicles plans to sell through local distributors and dealer partners across the US, leveraging an assembly line capable of producing over 4,000 vehicles annually.
Marcus Li, CEO and founder of Eli Electric Vehicles, expressed confidence in the US market, stating, āThe US is the largest micro-EV market, with an addressable market of over $120 billion, representing a significant opportunity for Eli to lead in this segment.ā He emphasized the company’s goal to transform urban transportation, offering compact and agile EVs that improve urban space utilization, reduce congestion, and ease parking, ultimately enhancing quality of life in cities.
The Eli Zero was first unveiled as a concept at CES in 2017 and entered production in 2021, initially manufactured in China for the European market. With its US launch, Eli Electric Vehicles aims to redefine personal vehicles, aligning with the emerging mobility revolution while benefiting traffic flow and the environment.
