Eli Electric Opens Reservations for Eli ZERO Microcar in the US

Eli Electric, the manufacturer behind the acclaimed Eli ZERO electric microcar, has announced the commencement of reservations for its highly anticipated US debut. The company’s innovative approach to urban mobility has garnered significant praise in European and Asian markets, where the Eli ZERO has already made a profound impact.

Priced at $11,900, the US version of the Eli ZERO is poised to revolutionize urban commuting with its compact design and impressive features. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2024, offering reservation holders swift access to this cutting-edge vehicle.

Designed to meet the stringent regulations set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs), the Eli ZERO is fully street-legal on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph (56 km/h). This positioning aligns with Eli Electric’s overarching mission, as articulated by founder and CEO Marcus Li, who stated, “Our goal is to transform urban trips, empowering riders to reconnect with their communities through compact and agile EVs that allow for a better utilization of urban space, reduced congestion, ease of parking, and ultimately an improved quality of life in cities.”

One of the standout features of the US model is its extended range, boasting an impressive 90-mile (145 km) capability. This is achieved through the integration of an 8 kWh LiFePO4 battery, which can be conveniently recharged in under three hours on 240VAC or under five hours on 120VAC. Despite its modest dimensions, the Eli ZERO offers ample space with two car seats and a 160L (5.6 cubic feet) trunk for storage.

With a length of just 88 inches, the Eli ZERO is shorter than the width of a GMC HUMMER EV, underscoring its agility and suitability for urban environments. The vehicle is equipped with a range of premium features, including heat and A/C, keyless entry and start, power steering, anti-lock brakes, and a rearview camera. Optional enhancements such as a tilting sunroof and a Sony infotainment center with CarPlay and Android Auto further enhance the driving experience.
