Electrify Canada has announced its expansion into Nova Scotia, marking the addition of its seventh province to the network. The initial two charging locations will be established in Amherst and Bedford.
In conjunction with this expansion, Electrify Canada is also adding five new locations in Québec, including hubs in Greenfield Park, Québec City, St-Hyacinthe, Mont-Tremblant, and Laval, with the latter two already operational.
This latest initiative enhances Electrify Canada’s network with over 40 next-generation chargers, each capable of delivering charging speeds up to 350 kW. The charge point operator (CPO) has partnered with Canadian Tire for this expansion, aiming to provide more accessible and efficient charging solutions for electric vehicle (EV) users.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Canadian Tire to bring more Hyper-Fast charging to locals, commuters, and travellers in Nova Scotia and Québec – the zero-emission volume leader,” stated Scott Hollinshead, program manager of OEM business development at Electrify Canada. “These new stations almost double our presence in Québec and introduce Electrify Canada to Nova Scotia. With locations now in seven provinces, Electrify Canada is committed to supporting the widespread adoption of electric vehicles across Canada.”
Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “We’re making electric vehicles more affordable and charging more available where Canadians live, work, travel, and play. Investing in more EV chargers, like those installed today in Nova Scotia and those being installed in Halifax West, will put more Canadians in the driver’s seat on the road to a net-zero future and help achieve our climate goals.”
