The Zeekr 001 has broken a new Guinness World Record for the fastest drift by an electric vehicle. In addition, a new record was recorded, namely the fastest slalom completed by an electric vehicle.

The Zeekr 001 is the production version of the Lynk & Co Zero Concept, which was first launched in September 2020. A new record for fastest drift EV, the rear of the car kicks at a speed of 207,996 km/h (129.2 mph).

The Zeekr 001 also sets a new benchmark for electric vehicle slalom, passing 50 cones the same distance in just 49.05 seconds. Both records were broken under the supervision of a jury from Guinness World Records.

The Zeekr 001 has a pair of electric motors which combine to deliver 536 hp and over 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. The amount of power generated allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).

In the market, Zeekr sells this car with 86 kWh and 100 kWh battery packs. Using a 100 kWh battery pack, the Zeekr 001 promises a range of up to 435 miles (700 km) on a single charge.

The Zeekr 001 also has fast charging capability of up to 360 kW, allowing it to add up to 75 miles (120 km) of range in a five-minute charge.

Zeekr officially launched the 001 in China last October and has been shipping the car ever since. The automaker is targeting a European launch in 2023.
