The Mini Moke, which we have known as the legendary beach car, will make a comeback with an electric powertrain. Moke International has announced the production of the electric Moke in the UK.
The electric Mini Moke will be first delivered to customers in the UK and France from June. Moke International claims to be the first traditional automotive brand to fully use electricity.
The electric Mini Moke uses 33 kW electric drive and a range of 75 miles (120 kilometers). The top speed is 100 km/h (62 mph). Moke International did not provide details on the size and type of battery used. Charging itself takes four hours.
Moke International says more than 60 percent of electric Mini Moke parts are said to come from Europe. For the remaining 40 percent the company did not disclose its origin. There are five color options to be offered.
The price for the Launch Edition is Ā£29,150 or over 34,000 euros before taxes and subsidies. The electric Mini Moke is also available in left-hand drive, but the company has yet to publish pricing for continental Europe.
