Battery manufacturer Duracell has unveiled a new UK-wide network of ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers under its CPO subsidiary, Duracell E-Charge, with the first six sites scheduled to go live in 2025 and a broader expansion planned throughout 2026.
The company plans to invest more than £200 million over the next decade to establish its presence in the public charging infrastructure market. The network will be operated by newly formed charge point operator Elektra Charge, while development and funding will be handled by UK charging infrastructure developer The EV Network, which already manages 43 locations nationwide, including what it describes as the UK’s largest charging hub at the National Exhibition Centre.

Charging hubs will feature speeds of up to 1,000 kW and will be installed at strategic locations including motorways, retail and hospitality venues, and city gateways.

The rollout is part of Duracell’s wider strategy to establish a foothold in the UK EV market, complementing growing demand for high-speed public charging infrastructure.
