Duracell E-Charge has commissioned its first public electric vehicle charging hub in the United Kingdom, launching a town-centre site in Cheltenham equipped with ultra-rapid chargers powered by renewable energy.

The company said its first location is now operational at Bath Terrace Car Park, placing high-power charging infrastructure “in the heart of the town.” The site is designed to provide fast and reliable charging, with an emphasis on accessibility, ease of use and high operational availability.

The installation includes five ultra-rapid chargers, each capable of delivering up to 300 kilowatts, serving a total of 10 charging bays. Duracell E-Charge said the hub has been built to target uptime of more than 99% and to meet the needs of both EV drivers and site partners.

Drivers using the facility benefit from free parking for up to one hour while charging, and public toilets are available on site. The location is already listed on Google Maps, making it visible to drivers searching for fast charging options in the area.

With the Cheltenham hub now live, Duracell E-Charge has taken its first step into the UK’s rapidly expanding public fast-charging market, positioning its network around centrally located sites offering ultra-rapid performance.

Duracell announced in October that it planned to launch an EV charging network in the UK, with an investment commitment of £200 million over the next decade. While the company had previously indicated that its first six sites would be operational this year, it has now said that a broader rollout is planned over the course of next year.
