Dissecting the Interior of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Lots of Eco-Friendly Materials

Well, one of the interesting things about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is its unique interior design. Hyundai designed the interior of the Ioniq 5 with the theme “Living Space” which emphasizes the relief and comfort of the driver and passengers.

For example, the interior of the Ioniq 5 has a flat floor without steps so that it provides flexibility to move.

Thanks to this flat floor, Hyundai provides a center console that can be shifted forward and backward by 140 mm.

Then about comfort, Hyundai provides electric front seats with Premium Relaxation Seats complete with thigh rests.

Interestingly, the Ioniq 5’s comfortable cabin has lots of recycled and environmentally friendly materials.

For example, for the seats, Hyundai uses materials that are claimed to recycle at least 32 plastic bottles.

Then, the door is also made of 100 percent high-density polyethylene (HDPE) paper which can be recycled. This paper has a light texture, just like traditional Korean paper.

The doors and crash pads of the Ioniq 5 are painted with natural paints containing oils extracted from plants, such as horseradish and corn.

Oh yes, the Ioniq 5 has leather seats with natural hemp oil ingredients and a magnetic pad near the instrument screen made from sugarcane thread.
