DHL has ordered 25 electric swap body movers from German special vehicle manufacturer TII Kamag for use at parcel centers across Germany. The vehicles will support yard logistics by moving standardized swap body containers between trucks, loading ramps, gates and staging areas.
The vehicles are from TII Kamag’s ePrecisionMover (ePM) range, which is designed for maneuvering swap bodies within logistics facilities. The order forms part of DHL’s efforts to electrify its yard logistics operations.
Electric Movers Support Parcel Handling
Swap bodies allow logistics operators to separate cargo containers from the vehicles transporting them. At parcel centers, truck drivers can leave a loaded container on its support legs, collect another container and continue their journey without waiting for the original load to be handled.
Specialized swap body movers then transport the containers around the facility, positioning them at loading docks, gates and staging areas as required.
TII Kamag’s electric ePrecisionMover is designed to support these operations through precise maneuvering and short lifting and lowering times. The manufacturer says these features can reduce vehicle waiting periods and downtime, helping logistics centers manage tight handling schedules.
“The demands placed on parcel networks continue to grow, both in terms of handling performance and sustainability. With the KAMAG ePM, we offer a solution that combines both dimensions and integrates seamlessly into existing and scalable logistics processes,” said Godehard Eidenhammer, Sales Manager for Yard Logistics at TII Kamag.
Battery Specifications Not Confirmed
TII Kamag introduced a third-generation ePrecisionMover in 2024 with a 140 kWh battery and DC charging capability of up to 100 kW. The company has also developed the ePrecisionMover 101, which features a redesigned driver’s cab, ergonomic and safety improvements, an updated operating concept and a 160 kWh battery.
DHL and TII Kamag have not confirmed which version is included in the latest order. Battery capacity, charging specifications and delivery schedules for the 25 vehicles have not been disclosed.
Longstanding Supplier Relationship
DHL received its first diesel-powered swap body mover from TII Kamag in 1995, becoming the manufacturer’s first customer for this type of vehicle. The logistics group has expanded its fleet with vehicles from the German manufacturer since then.

TII Kamag also supplies electric swap body movers to other German logistics companies, including Dachser and Noerpel, as operators introduce electrification into their logistics facilities.
