Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under BYD, is gearing up to launch two new SUVs in the near future. While Denza has been focusing on marketing its N7 model earlier this month, the brand has already started promoting the N8 model on social media platforms such as Weibo.
The Denza N8 is expected to carry over much of the design of the discontinued Denza X, which measures 4,890mm in length, 1,950mm in width, and 1,725mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820mm. The N8 will be a mid to large-size SUV and will be available in 5-, 6-, and 7-seat versions.

Denza has been teasing the public with images of the N8’s exterior design on Weibo, showcasing the brand’s new π-Motion design language. Denza also released a video of one of the N8’s winter tests earlier this month, which revealed a maximum charging power of 175 kW for the electric-only version and 90 kW for the plug-in hybrid version.
Denza was established in 2011 as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, becoming the first Sino-foreign joint venture in China to focus on NEVs. In 2022, Daimler’s brand was rebranded as Mercedes-Benz, and BYD’s stake in Denza increased to 90 percent, with Mercedes-Benz’s stake decreasing to 10 percent.
Last year, Denza launched its first model after rebranding, the D9 MPV, with deliveries beginning at the end of October. Now, the Denza N7 has garnered a high level of enthusiasm, and with the recent announcement of a partnership with French high-end audio brand Devialet, many customers are eagerly awaiting its launch in the middle of the year. According to Denza’s general manager of sales division, Zhao Changjiang, the N7 is expected to receive 30,000 orders before its launch, based on the high volume of inquiries from customers.
