Delta Electronics is providing around 800 UFC 200 ultra-fast chargers for an ambitious expansion of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at McDonald’s locations across France, as part of a partnership with French charging network operator Izivia. The project, launched last year, aims to install over 2,000 charging points across 700 McDonald’s sites by 2025, bolstering France’s EV infrastructure.

The charging stations, labeled as the ‘Izivia Fast’ network, were announced by Izivia, a subsidiary of French energy giant EDF, in November 2023. Delta’s UFC 200 chargers, each with a capacity of up to 200 kW, are equipped with two CCS and one AC charging port, allowing dual DC charging with 100 kW per port when both are in use. Select stations will also feature Cable Management Systems (CMS) for added convenience.

Vincent Lin, Vice President of eMobility & Smart Energy Solutions at Delta EMEA, expressed pride in Delta’s role in the project, saying, “We are honored that Izivia has chosen Delta to ultimately serve McDonald’s and their customers, underscoring our dedication to enhancing the EV infrastructure across the EMEA region and beyond.”

Christelle Vives, CEO of Izivia, noted the significance of the partnership in promoting sustainable mobility, adding, “Delta’s UFC200 ultra-fast charger has proven to be the optimal solution through rigorous testing, and we are thrilled to partner with Delta in promoting sustainable mobility.”

This initiative is co-financed by Crédit Mutuel Impact, through the Siloé Infrastructures fund, established in 2020. Additionally, Izivia benefits from a partnership between EDF and infrastructure investor Morrison, who together pledged up to €450 million earlier this year to install 8,000 high-power charging (HPC) stations across France by 2030.

Izivia currently operates over 25,000 charging points, a number set to grow substantially with the deployment of the new McDonald’s chargers and the broader EDF-Morrison HPC initiative.
