Rizon, Daimler Truck’s dedicated medium-duty electric truck brand, has delivered 20 vehicles to customers across California and announced plans to expand its dealership network into four additional U.S. states. The moves underscore the company’s efforts to accelerate its footprint in the American commercial EV market.
Launched in April 2023, Rizon currently offers four model variants—the e16L, e16M, e18L and e18M—with ranges between 110 and 160 miles (177 to 257 kilometres). The brand entered the Canadian market earlier this year and is now pushing for broader adoption in the United States.
The California deliveries span multiple industries. A hospitality company will receive five box-truck units, a real estate developer is adding five junk-haul trucks, and a college campus is deploying five electric service-body vehicles. A renewable fuel distributor will receive two flatbeds. Several municipal authorities—including Bakersfield, El Cajon, Claremont, La Mirada and the Port of Los Angeles—will also integrate Rizon trucks into their operations.
Rizon is simultaneously expanding its sales and service network through partnerships with established dealers. The company confirmed alliances with Diversified Truck and Equipment Sales in Arizona, Range Zero Emissions in Washington, and Alta eMobility in New Jersey and New York to “meet growing demand.”
General Manager Alex Voets said the broad customer mix demonstrates the viability of electric trucks across day-to-day operations. “Seeing Rizon trucks at work in such a wide range of industries… underscores the practicality of electric trucks in everyday operations,” Voets said. “Our expanding customer base and dealership network show that more fleets are recognizing the environmental and operational benefits of going electric.”
