Daimler Buses is introducing a temporary free digital service package for all newly delivered buses and coaches, aiming to enhance fleet efficiency and reduce operational costs, the company announced.
The offer applies to the battery-electric eCitaro, eCitaro fuel cell, and, later, the eIntouro models, with a free service period of six years. Customers will have the option to extend the service at a reduced rate after the term expires. For Mercedes-Benz and Setra diesel buses, the free service period is limited to three years.

Daimler Buses stated that the digital package provides real-time data on vehicle condition and energy consumption, allowing fleet operators to monitor and optimize performance. “The battery monitoring program can extend battery life, while an overview of fleet consumption is available through the Omniplus On monitor,” the company said. The system also enables early detection of maintenance needs, helping to prevent major or consequential damage.
A key component of the package for electric buses is āOmniplus On Battery Monitoring,ā which offers detailed insights into battery performance. Activation of the digital services is voluntary and must be enabled through the Omniplus On portal.

The move follows Daimler Truckās recent expansion in vehicle software and services. In late 2024, the company launched a joint venture with Volvo to develop a truck operating system for the commercial vehicle sector. The initiative builds on Daimlerās investment in battery technology, including the opening of a battery technology center last year.
