Compleo Charging Solutions has announced a strategic realignment aimed at positioning the Dortmund-based company as a specialist in high-quality, future-oriented charging technologies, with a particular focus on AC bidirectional charging. The move comes as the company seeks to adapt to the challenges of a maturing e-mobility market and leverage synergies within its parent company, the Kostal Group.
“As part of the Kostal Group, the company is sharpening its focus,” Compleo said in a statement. The restructuring will concentrate on product innovation and technical development while simplifying the company’s range of offerings. Hardware will continue to be developed internally and manufactured at Kostal Group facilities, while collaboration with Kostal will expand to include software and energy market integration.

The DUO AC charging station will remain central to Compleo’s strategy, serving as its flagship product for public and semi-public use. However, several products will be phased out as part of the restructuring. The eBOX and SOLO AC wallboxes will stay available until early 2026, after which new models will take their place. The CITO 500 AC/DC station will also be discontinued, though existing units will continue to receive full maintenance support. In the DC segment, Compleo plans to focus on the HPC eTower 200, which remains actively marketed.
CEO Björn Dietrich said the realignment builds on the company’s philosophy of “Evolution through Focus,” emphasizing innovation and efficiency. “With our strategic approach, ‘Evolution through Focus,’ Compleo is actively shaping the future of e-mobility,” Dietrich said. “Integration into the Kostal Group secures our financial stability and strategic strength, allowing us to be a reliable partner during this transition – with proven solutions for the present and pioneering innovations for the challenges of tomorrow.”

As part of the restructuring, Compleo has streamlined internal processes and reduced its product complexity, building on earlier portfolio consolidation efforts initiated in 2022. The company has also restructured its sales operations, particularly in the DACH region, to strengthen customer engagement through localized teams. Compleo’s UK operations ceased in September, with existing clients now being serviced directly from Germany.
