The new C5 Aircross Concept may have taken center stage at Citroen’s booth, but the French automaker also unveiled a significant update for its compact offerings, the C4 and C4 X. Set to debut in early 2025, these models feature a refreshed design, enhanced comfort, and modernized technology.

The 2025 C4 and C4 X showcase a redesigned front fascia, featuring slimmer and boxier split headlights. The previously chrome-infused double chevron grille has been replaced by Citroen’s new oval emblem, giving the models a more contemporary look. The updated bumper boasts a sculpted design with reduced plastic cladding and an aluminum-style skid plate, contributing to a sleeker profile.

While the side profiles of both models largely remain the same, they feature newly designed alloy wheels. The rear of the C4 has been cleaned up with new LED taillights positioned below the integrated rear spoiler. In contrast, the C4 X maintains its longer, aerodynamic tail from its 2022 debut, with only minor updates to the Citroen branding.

Inside, the C4 and C4 X benefit from Citroen’s Advanced Comfort seats, which feature thicker foam padding for enhanced comfort. A new 7-inch digital instrument cluster complements the carry-over 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, offering a more modernized driving experience.

Both models continue to ride on the CMP architecture, typical of subcompact vehicles in the Stellantis lineup. The powertrain options include mild-hybrid and fully electric variants, along with an internal combustion engine-only version available in select markets.

The mild-hybrid powertrain features a turbocharged 1.2-liter engine producing either 99 hp (74 kW / 100 PS) or 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS), supplemented by an additional 28 hp (21 kW / 29 PS) from the electric motor integrated into the six-speed automatic gearbox.

The fully electric variants generate 134 hp (136 PS) and 155 hp (115 kW / 156 PS), with front-wheel drive. The lower-powered model comes with a 50 kWh battery, providing a WLTP range of 355 to 360 km (221 to 224 miles). The more powerful version, equipped with a larger 54 kWh battery, offers a range of 415 to 425 km (258 to 264 miles), depending on the bodystyle.

The facelifted Citroen C4 and C4 X are expected to reach European dealerships in early 2025, with pricing details to be announced closer to their market launch. With these updates, Citroen aims to strengthen its presence in the competitive compact segment, offering consumers a blend of style, comfort, and modern technology.
