The Chevrolet Blazer EV is launched as Chevrolet’s newest electric car after the Silverado EV, Bolt EV, and Bolt EUV.
In addition to being Chevrolet’s new electric car, the Blazer EV is also expanding General Motors’ Ultium-tech electric car lineup.
“The Blazer EV 2024 is a new color for electric SUVs with intuitive options and technologies that have helped Chevrolet achieve its segment leader position,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet.
“Together with the Silverado EV and Equinox EV launching next year, we are taking a big step forward in offering a wider selection of zero-emission vehicles,” Bell added.
At its launch, the Chevrolet Blazer EV came in four variants ranging from 1LT, 2LT, RS and the flagship SS variant.
What makes the Blazer EV unique is that it has three drive options, namely front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive.
Of course the fastest version, the SS, is available in all-wheel drive which is said to be capable of spitting out a combined power of 565 hp and 878 Nm of torque.
Chevrolet claims the Blazer EV SS with Wide Open Watts mode can run 0-96 km/h in just 4 seconds.
About the battery, Blazer EV Lithium-ion battery which is claimed to provide a range of up to 320 miles or 515 kilometers depending on the variant.
The battery supports the latest charging technology with a maximum power of 11.5 kW for AC current and 190 kW for DC fast charger.
Chevrolet claims that with fast charging, the Blazer EV battery can cover a distance of 125 kilometers in a single charge for 10 minutes.
Oh yes, discussing the features, Chevrolet doesn’t forget to provide the latest technologies ranging from Wide Open Watts (WOW), Ultifi software, and the Chevy Safety Assist Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) feature.
In addition, the Blazer EV is also available with a Super Cruise semi-autonomous steering option that can be used on highways in the United States and Canada.
