ChargePoint has notified Fisker owners via email about the removal of their EV charging credits. This action follows Fisker’s alleged abandonment of its contract with ChargePoint, leading to a dispute over unpaid promotional charging costs.
“Fisker has abandoned its contract with ChargePoint, failing to pay for promotional charging offers given to its customers, including the one you redeemed,” stated ChargePoint in an email shared with Drive Tesla.

The move comes in the wake of Fisker’s financial challenges, culminating in the company filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Earlier this year, Fisker had expressed financial distress and sought investors to sustain its operations. Speculation about potential partnerships, including with Nissan, emerged, but ultimately, Fisker’s financial woes deepened, leading to bankruptcy.
In early 2023, Fisker had announced a partnership with ChargePoint to serve as their North American charging partner, offering new owners a $1,000 credit for the ChargePoint network. However, ChargePoint now alleges that Fisker has abandoned the contract, leaving the company with unpaid charges for the promotional credits.

ChargePoint indicated that it has made efforts to resolve the issue with Fisker but has been met with silence from the automaker. As a result, ChargePoint has decided to revoke the charging credits of Fisker owners, absorbing the cost of promotional charging sessions already redeemed.
Here is the email in full.
Dear Fisker Driver,
Thanks for charging your Ocean on the ChargePoint network via a Fisker promo code. We value having you as a driver, and are sorry to add an extra email to your inbox, but we need to relay some unfortunate information.
In brief, Fisker has abandoned its contract with ChargePoint. It has done so without paying for any of the promotional charging offers given out to its customers, including the one you redeemed to your ChargePoint account. ChargePoint has done everything in our control to reach Fisker and find a way to take care of its drivers, however they have abandoned all communication without resolving payment.
As a result, ChargePoint is now in the unfortunate position of needing to remove the remaining credit balance from your account. As we consider this to be a terrible Fisker experience for those with an effected ChargePoint account, we will absorb the cost of related historical charging sessions ourselves.
We hope you will remain with us as a driver, so we need to underscore that this is a Fisker issue, not a ChargePoint one. We have done everything we could to eliminate or minimize the impact for Fisker drivers on our charging network. We ask that you direct any claims or complaints directly to them, however ChargePoint would be happy to support you with anything directly pertaining to your ChargePoint account moving forward.
With kind regards,
Team ChargePoint
