French retailer Carrefour has announced a collaboration with charging infrastructure provider Eleport to install over 70 charging stations at its store locations in Poland. The partnership aims to install a total of more than 170 charging points in 65 Polish cities by 2025.

Eleport is currently engaged in administrative processes and preparing individual locations for the installation of the charging devices at Carrefour sites in Poland. Both companies are working to quickly put the charging stations into operation, with the first stations expected to be operational this year.

Paweł Doleciński, Sales Manager at Eleport, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Thanks to this partnership, we will be able to offer customers of the network in several dozen Polish cities the opportunity to charge their cars quickly during their daily shopping trip.”

The charging infrastructure provider currently operates over 800 charging points in Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. It plans to increase this number to 1,350 by the end of this year through collaborations such as the one with Carrefour.

For Carrefour, the development of charging infrastructure at its sites aligns with the global “Carrefour 2026” strategy, which aims to reduce the company’s CO2 emissions by 30 per cent by 2025, 50 per cent by 2030, and 70 per cent by 2040 compared to 2019.

Carrefour has been actively expanding its EV charging infrastructure in recent years. In 2021, the company announced a partnership with Allego to install over 2,000 fast charging points for electric cars at more than 200 locations in France by 2023. Additionally, Carrefour plans to install a total of 5,000 publicly accessible charging points at over 700 stores in France by 2025. Most recently, the retailer announced a partnership with Shell and Redevco to install around 500 charging points at Belgian locations by 2025.
