Cadillac is taking its electric vehicle (EV) game to the next level with a lineup of new all-electric models, including the Lyriq luxury crossover and the Celestiq ultra-premium luxury sedan. But it seems that the luxury marque is not done yet. According to GM Authority, General Motors is currently testing a new all-electric Cadillac crossover that will slot in above the Lyriq in the brand’s EV lineup.
The new all-electric Cadillac crossover will share similarities with the current ICE-based Cadillac XT6 in terms of proportions. However, it will have a longer dash-to-axle ratio and a more traditional utility vehicle shape, with a more upright rear window, unlike the steeply inclined rear window design of the Lyriq. The upcoming EV crossover may also feature vertical taillights similar to those equipped by the Cadillac Escalade, as per initial design mockups.

Inside, the new all-electric Cadillac crossover may offer three rows of seats, similar to the Cadillac XT6, which seats up to seven passengers. This larger crossover model is expected to be unveiled before the end of the 2023 calendar year, with regular production possibly starting in the 2024 calendar year.
The upcoming all-electric Cadillac crossover will be part of a trio of Cadillac EVs that will be unveiled before the end of 2023, according to global Cadillac vice president Rory Harvey. Another possibility is a smaller Cadillac EV that may bear a similar exterior shape to the Chevy Equinox EV and will slot in below the Lyriq, as well as an all-electric version of the Cadillac Escalade full-size SUV.

The new Cadillac crossover will also adopt Cadillac’s latest IQ naming conventions, which have been introduced in models like the Lyriq and Celestiq. With this new EV, Cadillac is further establishing itself as a luxury EV brand, offering a range of all-electric models with different sizes and capabilities to cater to a broader range of customers.
