BYD will move its German headquarters to Offenbach in the fourth quarter of 2025, opting for the city’s Kaiserlei district over neighboring Frankfurt, the Chinese electric vehicle maker said. The company will occupy about 5,000 square meters in the recently completed GROW office building, consolidating operations previously split between two sites in Stuttgart.
The new facility will host BYD’s German sales, marketing and administrative teams, and also support sales in Switzerland. “We definitely want to open this year,” Ralf Kaiser, BYD Germany’s head of communications, told the Offenbach Post. “We are a very dynamic company, we want to expand in Offenbach.” The office lease covers five floors and includes a ground-floor showroom, with the site offering direct motorway, public transport and airport access. BYD has yet to decide whether all Stuttgart employees will relocate.
The move comes as BYD accelerates its push into the German market, aiming to expand its sales network from 27 locations to 120 by year-end. This week, the company named Ulmen Group as a sales partner in the Rhineland, including one of the largest BYD showrooms in the country.
BYD is also shifting its European headquarters from Schiedam in the Netherlands to Budapest, Hungary, where it plans to establish a new R&D center. The automaker has set a goal for half of its global sales to come from outside China by 2030, up from about 10% in 2023.
