BYD has made its entry into the Greek market by collaborating with dealer partner Sfakianakis Group, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy.
The first two BYD models to be introduced in Greece through Sfakianakis Group are the Atto 3 and the Seal, as announced in a recent press release. In China, the Atto 3 is known as the Yuan Plus.
Following the launch of the Atto 3 and Seal, BYD’s Dolphin, the Seal U, is set to be the next model introduced in Greece, available in both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) versions. The Seal U, called the Song Plus in China, offers the pure electric Song Plus EV and the hybrid Song Plus DM-i.
To support its entry into Greece, BYD will open its first two stores in Athens, located at 57 Kifissias Avenue, Marousi, and 173 Athens Avenue & Kifisos Avenue. The company aims to provide high-quality localized sales and after-sales services, with plans to expand its network of retail partners and authorized repairers across the country.
“This is BYD Europe’s first national launch in 2024, making our partnership with Sfakianakis Group in Greece especially significant,” stated Michael Shu, managing director of BYD Europe.
Since its European passenger car market debut in October 2022, BYD has established over 250 stores in 20 European countries through partnerships with local entities. Furthermore, BYD is expanding its global presence by constructing plants in various countries, with its inaugural European passenger car plant slated for Hungary.
On January 30, BYD signed a preliminary land purchase agreement with the government of Szeged city in Hungary for the construction of its passenger car plant, emphasizing its commitment to growth and innovation in the European market.
