Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant BYD has officially launched its vehicle offerings in Jordan through a partnership with local dealer Mobility Solutions Auto Trade Co (MSTC). This marks BYD’s first foray into the Middle East market and the company introduced four models during a joint launch event with MSTC on March 9. The models include the BYD Dolphin, Tang EV, Atto 3 and Han EV.
Adam Peng, BYD’s sales director for the Middle East region, noted that the launch event was a milestone for the company’s “in-depth integration” into the Middle East market. The Dolphin is a compact car, while the Tang EV is a midsize SUV with 520 horsepower. The Atto 3, also known as the Yuan Plus in China, is BYD’s first global model, while the Han EV is the company’s flagship sedan.

As part of the launch, BYD also announced a strategic cooperation plan with MSTC, which will see the two parties collaborate on sales, after-sales and maintenance to provide support and service to consumers in the Middle East. The partnership with MSTC was announced in September 2022 as part of BYD’s efforts to provide NEVs to local consumers in Jordan.
In February, BYD sold 193,655 NEVs, including 90,639 pure electric passenger cars, 101,025 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, and 1,991 commercial vehicles. The company also sold 15,002 NEVs in overseas markets during the same month, an increase of 44.13% from January. With the launch of its vehicle offerings in Jordan, BYD is well positioned to continue its growth in the global NEV market.
