The Electra E4, which made its debut in China in June 2023, initially offered four variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 189,900 to RMB 259,900. However, in the latest update, while the model continues to be available in four options, all starting prices have been slashed. The reduced starting prices now stand at RMB 159,900, RMB 182,900, RMB 192,900, and RMB 229,900 respectively.
This move translates to a significant reduction of RMB 30,000 for the base model, with similar cuts across the other variants.
Measuring 4,818 mm in length, 1,912 mm in width, and 1,581 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,954 mm, the Buick Electra E4 is an all-electric coupe SUV.

Buick’s price adjustment comes amidst a broader trend in the Chinese auto market, where manufacturers are engaged in a fierce price war to capture market share and stimulate demand. Buick’s move follows similar initiatives by other major players, including BYD, which recently introduced the Qin Plus Glory Edition and the Chaser 05 Glory Edition at reduced starting prices of RMB 79,800.
Subsequently, brands such as SAIC-GM-Wuling, Neta Auto, and Changan Deepal have followed suit, underscoring the competitive dynamics driving the industry’s pricing strategies.
