BP Pulse, the charging subsidiary of BP, has launched its first UK location exclusively for electric vehicle charging, marking a shift from traditional petrol stations. Situated on the A4 in Hammersmith, London, the site offers no refueling options for petrol or diesel vehicles but features a convenience store and café, highlighting BP’s focus on customer amenities.
The new “EV charging and convenience hub” is equipped with five fast chargers, each capable of delivering 300 kW and supporting two vehicles simultaneously. A canopy covers all charging stations, providing weather protection for users.

BP emphasized the growing demand for non-fuel-related services, noting that over half of its UK retail customers visit primarily to shop. “This combined food, drink, and convenience offer reflects the increase in drivers’ expectations of services they want to access while their car is charging,” the company stated.
“The launch of our Cromwell Road EV convenience hub is a significant milestone in how we’re evolving to meet the needs of a new generation of EV drivers in the capital and beyond,” said Richard Bartlett, SVP for BP Pulse and Mobility & Convenience, Europe.
