BMW has introduced a preferred pricing programme for BMW and Mini electric vehicle drivers using Ionna charging stations across the United States.

Under the programme, drivers who start charging sessions through Plug & Charge or the My BMW App will receive a 20% discount on charging costs through Sept. 30, 2026.

BMW said the discount is automatically applied within the vehicle’s digital ecosystem, aiming to simplify access to public fast-charging infrastructure for EV owners.

The automaker said the initiative is intended to support the broader adoption of electric vehicles as reliable public charging networks become increasingly important for both daily driving and long-distance travel.

“BMW firmly believes in an electric future, and it’s no secret that reliable high-speed charging infrastructure remains essential to the continued growth of the electric vehicle market,” said Shaun Bugbee, Executive Vice President of BMW of North America.

“We currently offer one of the broadest portfolios of premium electric vehicles in the US, with the next-generation BMW iX3 arriving in the US later this year. As our electric vehicle offerings continue to expand, initiatives like this help ensure our customers enjoy a seamless ownership experience wherever they travel,” he added.

The Ionna charging network was established in 2023 as a joint venture between several global automakers seeking to expand fast-charging infrastructure in the United States and Canada.

Founding members included BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis. Toyota joined the initiative in 2024.

According to BMW, the Ionna network currently operates more than 1,000 charging bays across North America and plans further expansion as competition intensifies in the electric vehicle charging sector.
