Blink Charging has unveiled its EQ 200 charger, tailored to the European market. This Level 2 charger not only offers up to 22 kW of charging power output but also supports vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and bi-directional charging. Designed to facilitate the transition from static EV charging to more dynamic and sustainable energy management, this development aligns with evolving grid technology.
The EQ 200 charger boasts compatibility with 2G and 4G networks, Bluetooth connectivity, and can link to the internet via WiFi or ethernet. This extensive connectivity allows it to seamlessly interact with a wide range of load-balancing and intelligent energy management systems. Alex Calnan, Managing Director of Blink Charging UK, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “The launch of our grid-ready EQ 200 charger into the UK and Irish markets is an important moment for EV charging. Facilities including car parks, depots, and offices now have the option of an advanced solution capable of interacting with smart energy systems.”
Notably, electric vehicle sales in the UK exceeded expectations last year, constituting nearly 17% of new vehicle registrations. Miko de Haan, President of Blink Charging Europe, acknowledged this trend, asserting, “This continued acceleration of EV adoption demands a sophisticated EV charging infrastructure, and we hope to play our part in growing a network of future-capable chargers that supports EV ambitions.”
The EQ 200 charger’s adaptability and high power output position it as a promising addition to the European EV charging landscape, addressing the ever-increasing demand for advanced and sustainable charging solutions.
