Bergamont’s E-Sweep lineup has been updated for the 2023 model year with the introduction of the Tour and Sport models. They are built on the same 6061 aluminum alloy frame, with a sleekly hidden battery pack in the down tube that makes it hard to distinguish them as e-bikes.
Under the hood, the bikes are powered by the Mahle X35+ electric motor, delivering a punchy 250 watts, paired with a 250 watt-hour battery. Though Bergamont doesn’t provide any official range figures, the system should provide between 50 to 60 miles of riding on a single charge, depending on riding conditions.
Despite the additional weight of the electric motor and battery, the bikes remain relatively lightweight, with the battery accounting for only 3.5 kilograms of the total 17.5-kilogram weight.
The Tour and Sport models differ primarily in their components. The Sport model features an eight-speed Shimano Claris drivetrain, while the Tour model comes with a ten-speed Shimano Deore system designed for mountain bikes. Both models come equipped with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes.
The bikes also offer optional extras, such as luggage racks and fenders, allowing riders to customize their ride to their specific needs.
