Austrian battery diagnostics company Aviloo has launched a new battery warranty programme for used electric vehicles, aiming to increase buyer confidence by combining independent battery testing with financial protection.
The new offering provides compensation of up to €3,000 if a vehicle’s battery health falls below a predefined threshold during the warranty period.
According to Aviloo, the warranty is designed to address one of the biggest concerns in the used EV market: uncertainty surrounding battery condition and long-term performance.
Warranty Backed by Battery Diagnostics
The battery warranty is linked to Aviloo’s independent battery testing services and forms part of the company’s newly launched Aviloo Connect digital platform.
The system is based on the company’s battery quick test and accompanying battery health certificate, which evaluates the battery’s State of Health (SoH).
While the certificate independently documents the battery’s condition at the time of testing, the new warranty functions as a separate protection product designed to cover future battery degradation risks.
Aviloo said the warranty will be available from July in Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Finland, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium and Ireland. The programme is also being introduced in France and Sweden.
Data-Driven Protection Model
The warranty uses a data-driven methodology based on Aviloo’s battery diagnostics database.
For each vehicle, the company calculates an individual battery health threshold that must be maintained during a one-year warranty period covering up to 20,000 kilometers of driving.
Owners can perform an Aviloo Flash Test during the warranty period to verify battery condition.
If the battery’s State of Health falls below the calculated limit within the covered period, Aviloo will provide €3,000 in compensation and reimburse the cost of the battery test.
New Tool for the Used EV Market
Aviloo says the combination of diagnostics and warranty protection introduces a new level of transparency to the used electric vehicle sector.
The company believes the approach can help dealers provide greater assurance to buyers without assuming additional financial risk themselves.
According to Aviloo, the system makes battery performance more predictable and helps reduce uncertainty around the most expensive component in an electric vehicle.
Integrated Through Aviloo Connect
The warranty is managed through Aviloo Connect, a digital dashboard developed for dealers, fleet operators, wholesalers and online vehicle marketplaces.
The platform allows users to monitor the full lifecycle of a battery assessment, from data collection and diagnostics to certificate issuance and warranty management.
Aviloo said the system provides a centralized environment for managing battery condition information throughout a vehicle’s ownership cycle.
Growing Presence in Battery Testing
Aviloo has become one of Europe’s leading independent battery diagnostics providers for electric vehicles.
Earlier this year, the company secured a €30 million investment from Armira Growth to support expansion.
Its customer base includes major automotive and mobility companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Porsche Holding, Ayvens, Arval, Hedin, Emil Frey, BCA and Cox Automotive.
These organizations use Aviloo’s battery testing solutions to evaluate both used EV inventory and trade-in vehicles.
Building Trust in Used Electric Vehicles
Marcus Berger, Chief Executive Officer of Aviloo, said the new warranty represents an important step in the evolution of the used EV market.
“The Aviloo Battery Guarantee raises the used electric vehicle market to a new level.”
“For the first time, we are providing the foundation for a warranty that relies solely on objective, independent measurement data. This builds trust and makes risks calculable.”
As used electric vehicle sales continue to grow across Europe, battery condition is becoming an increasingly important factor in vehicle valuation. Aviloo believes its combination of independent diagnostics and warranty protection can help improve transparency and strengthen confidence among buyers and sellers alike.
