Luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Automobili Pininfarina has revealed a bespoke Battista commission, paying homage to the iconic 1955 Lancia Florida, a car revered by company founder Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina. The Battista Cinquantacinque showcases a stunning design and cutting-edge technology, embodying the pinnacle of automotive excellence.
Powered by four independent electric motors and a robust 120 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Battista delivers an astounding 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque. This advanced powertrain propels the car from 0-100 kph in a mere 1.86 seconds and 0-200 kph in just 4.75 seconds, while offering a remarkable driving range of up to 476 km.
The inspiration drawn from the 1955 Lancia Florida is evident in the design of the Battista Cinquantacinque, which also served as a muse for the company’s futuristic PURA Vision design concept, setting the tone for all future Automobili Pininfarina models.
Chief Design Officer at Automobili Pininfarina, Dave Amantea, expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This was a truly special and unique opportunity to design a car that pays homage to Pininfarina SpA’s heritage. The color combination of the Battista Cinquantacinque is incredible and shows the vision Battista Farina had when he designed the Lancia Florida back in the early fifties.”
The Battista Cinquantacinque will be unveiled to the public in Tokyo, Japan, marking a significant milestone in Automobili Pininfarina’s global expansion. The event will be held in partnership with retail giant SKY GROUP, underscoring the company’s commitment to reaching new markets and showcasing their exceptional craftsmanship to discerning clients worldwide.
