Emil Frey has entered into an exclusive partnership with Changan to handle sales and service operations in the Netherlands, marking another significant step in the Chinese automaker’s European expansion. Seres Group fell in its Hong Kong trading debut on Tuesday after completing its share offering at the upper end of the pricing range. The decline came amid a broader market downturn for electric vehicle (EV) stocks listed in Hong Kong. As of press time, Seres shares were down 4.79 percent at HK$125.20, giving the company a market capitalization of HK$217 billion ($27.9 billion). BYD (HKG: 1211) has introduced the updated 2026 Xia MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) with significantly reduced pricing to strengthen its position amid intensifying market competition. The model now starts at RMB 206,800 ($29,020), down RMB 43,000, or about 17%, from its predecessor’s starting price of RMB 249,800. Shangjie, the new automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and SAIC Motor, said it has delivered 10,000 units of its H5 SUV just 43 days after its market debut, marking a strong start for the latest member of Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). Geely will acquire a 26.4 percent stake in Renault do Brasil, marking a strategic step for the company’s expansion into South America. BorgWarner has secured its first North American deployment of a high-energy battery system for autonomous vehicles, supplying its NMC-based batteries for HOLON’s 15-passenger Level 4 electric shuttle. Production is scheduled to begin in 2027 at BorgWarner’s Seneca, South Carolina facility, compliant with Buy America and FEOC standards. Hyundai Motor Group has broken ground on a new hydrogen fuel cell production facility in the South Korean industrial city of Ulsan, marking a key step in its broader strategy to advance hydrogen technology beyond passenger vehicles. The Mobility House Solutions has introduced dynamic tariff optimisation in its smart charging software, ChargePilot, allowing electric vehicle (EV) fleets to charge during periods of low or negative electricity prices.
