Toyota Motor Corp said it would restart production of its first electric vehicle, the bZ4X, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, after fixing a potential safety issue that had halted sales of the new battery-powered model for more than three months. Unilever added a Volvo heavy-duty electric truck that will be used for the company’s transportation needs in the Netherlands. FreeWire Technologies announced that it will provide electric vehicle charging equipment and solutions integrated with Chevron stations. The charging provision will include Chevron-owned stations as well as independently-owned retailer stations. “Our charging stations help retail locations such as Chevron-branded stations to enhance their offerings to consumers,” said Arcady Sosinov, Founder and CEO of FreeWire in a press release shared on Twitter. SEA Electric recently expanded its assembly facility in suburban Melbourne. The Australian electric truck manufacturer currently has assembly facilities that have expanded to now cover 8,000 square meters on a total site of 15,000 square meters. With this expansion, SEA Electric targets to produce eight electric trucks per day or up to 2,080 units per year. The assembly facility uses 100kW rooftop solar panels, generating 129MWh of energy to date, with 86MWh exported back to the grid. The plant produces 60 percent more energy than it consumes. e-ATA Hydrogen is a 12-meter long bus for 95 passengers (40 seats) produced by Karsan, a bus manufacturer from Turkey. The Karsan e-ATA Hydrogen has a range of more than 500 kilometers. The bus combines a 250 kW electric drive with a 70 kW fuel cell and a 30 kWh battery. Five cylinder pressure tanks with a volume of 1,560 are placed on the roof of the vehicle in the rear area. Ford & SK began construction of their joint production facility in Tennessee that will produce batteries and electric vehicles. The production facility will build new electric pickup trucks and batteries for electric vehicles from Ford and Lincoln with opening targeted in 2025. To build the production facility, Ford invested $11.4 billion with battery partner SK Innovation to build two new locations in Tennessee and Kentucky. About $5.6 billion has been allocated to BlueOval City in Tennessee. The facility in Tennessee has an area equivalent to 15.5 square kilometers.
