Vanderhall Motor Works said on Friday it has begun customer deliveries of its Brawley GTS, an all-electric off-road vehicle featuring a quad-motor system, premium enclosed cabin, and an estimated range of up to 140 miles. Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD Co expects exports to contribute about a fifth of its global sales next year, as improved logistics and new model launches help the Shenzhen-based company expand its international footprint, the South China Morning Post reported on Monday. Lincoln Electric, best known for its welding equipment, has expanded into the electric vehicle sector with the launch of the Velion, a portable 50 kW DC fast charger aimed at stranded drivers and fleet operators. The company presented the unit as a compact and durable mobile solution for delivering quick charging in remote or emergency situations. Mercedes-Benz has started pre-sales in China for its all-new fully electric CLA sedan, while announcing a collaboration with Chinese startup Momenta to co-develop advanced driving assistance systems. The CLA 300 L, offered in two pre-sale versions, is priced from 259,000 yuan ($36,340) to 299,000 yuan. BP Pulse, the electric vehicle (EV) charging arm of BP, has joined forces with UK motorway operator Moto to install high-powered electric truck chargers at major service areas, targeting 300 charging bays across 23 locations by 2030. Each site will feature six pull-through bays equipped with Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) compatible with both CCS and MCS standards. The first three locations have been confirmed at Moto service areas in Lymm, Toddington North, and Toddington South, with the first truck charging site expected to open in 2026. German electric vehicle (EV) market newcomer Lucid Motors is expanding its sales strategy beyond company-owned showrooms, aiming to partner with established dealerships in 12 to 15 cities, with plans to eventually grow to 50–60 locations across Germany. Until now, Lucid has sold vehicles directly through its own “Lucid Studios” in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich, as well as showrooms in Switzerland, France, and the Netherlands. Mercedes-Benz Group AG is moving ahead with plans to buy a stake in Chongqing Qianli Technology, a Chinese company specializing in self-driving car systems, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. California-based electric vehicle startup Telo said on Tuesday it has raised $20 million in Series A funding to develop its compact all-electric pickup truck, the MT1, as larger EV trucks face weak demand in the United States. The funding round was co-led by industrial designer and company co-founder Yves Béhar and Tesla co-founder Marc Tarpenning, who also serves on Telo’s board. Other backers include Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and venture capital firms TO VC, E12 Ventures and Neo. Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng said it has partnered with Singapore-based charge point operator Charge+ to expand fast-charging access in Southeast Asia, with plans to roll out at least 20 new direct current (DC) fast charging sites across the region. The companies said the network will include hubs in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, with charging power ratings of up to 480kW DC. The City of Alameda has partnered with curbside charging company It’s Electric to install the island’s first building-powered public electric vehicle chargers on Alameda Housing Authority (AHA) property, in a move aimed at expanding access to residents without private parking. The pilot installation at Everett Commons uses existing electrical capacity from nearby buildings, avoiding the need for costly grid upgrades. Chargers can be deployed in as little as two days and are powered by 100% renewable electricity supplied by Alameda Municipal Power (AMP).
