Like other manufacturers, Audi has just issued a report on their vehicle sales last year. In 2021, overall, Audi has sold 81,894 electric vehicles, a growth of 57.5 percent compared to 2020.

Electric vehicles accounted for 4.9 percent of Audi’s overall sales in 2021. In 2021 Audi posted total sales for all vehicle types of 1,680,512 vehicles (down 0.7% year-over-year).

The decline in Audi’s total sales was caused by a global shortage of semiconductors that affected the automotive industry. In its report, Audi said in the fourth quarter it fell by 34.2 percent compared to the same period in 2020.

In the electric vehicle line, Audi relies on the Audi e-Tron GT and the Audi RS e-Tron GT which were introduced last year. The presence of these two models strengthens Audi’s line of electric vehicles, which are already filled by the Audi Q4 e-Tron and the Audi Q4 Sportback e-Tron.

With a total of four electric vehicle models offered, Audi was able to increase sales of the BEV line last year.

Audi plans to introduce more than 20 fully electric vehicles in its portfolio by 2025 and by 2026, it has plans to sell electric vehicles only.
