The Aspark Owl, undoubtedly one of the most opulent electric vehicles (EVs) ever conceived, has completed its journey from the assembly lines in Italy to its country of origin, Japan. This high-performance hypercar, available in two exclusive versions, comes with a multi-million-dollar price tag and is now ready to capture the attention of affluent Japanese consumers.

Founded in Osaka in 2005, Aspark Co. is a Japanese company specializing in car manufacturing and engineering, boasting a global presence with over 25 offices. In addition to hypercars, Aspark is involved in engineering and web-related development. Despite dedicating more than seven years to electric vehicle development, the company had yet to deliver a production vehicle. However, this narrative is set to change with the unveiling of the Owl hypercar, a contender for the title of one of the fastest and most expensive EVs ever created.

According to information provided on Aspark’s website, the Owl boasts “the most powerful four electric motors ever made,” collectively generating an impressive 1,980 horsepower (1,456 kW) and 1,920 Nm (1,416 ft-lb) of torque. It achieves a remarkable 250 miles (400 km) of all-electric range.

Notably, this EV can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a jaw-dropping 1.72 seconds and has a top speed of 260 mph (413 km/h), which led to the Aspark Owl securing two Guinness World Records in the UK earlier this year. These records encompassed covering one-eighth of a mile at an average speed of 192.03 mph (309.02 km/h) and a quarter-mile at an average speed of 198.12 mph (318.85 km/h).

After a notable appearance in Monaco in June, the Aspark Owl has once again taken the spotlight, returning to its birthplace in Japan.

As per the latest updates from Aspark, a production version of the Owl hypercar has been transported from Italy, where it was assembled, to Japan. This remarkable EV will be showcased in showrooms located in Kita-ku, a significant commercial hub in Osaka. The event is designed exclusively for potential clients in Japan and Asia to have the opportunity to witness the Owl up close and, for those with the means, consider purchasing one.

Considering its status as one of the world’s most expensive EVs, the potential client base for the Aspark Owl is undoubtedly more exclusive than that of other vehicles. The base model of the Owl is priced at a staggering 2.9 million euros ($3.1 million) each. Moreover, Aspark offers a variant with a fully carbon-fiber body, commanding an even heftier price of 3.5 million euros ($3.75 million).

It’s worth noting that, until recently, the Aspark Owl held the title of the most expensive EV globally, even before reaching full-scale production. However, this honor was later claimed by fellow hypercar manufacturer Automobili Pininfarina, which announced its Barchetta EV, priced at a staggering 4.4 million euros ($4.72 million) each in August.

Aspark has declared its intention to manufacture only 50 units of the Owl EV, each requiring approximately 12 months for delivery after an order is placed. The production is being handled by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT).
