Argo Cargo Bikes, a Denver-based e-bike developer, has launched the Argo Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0, a conversion kit designed to turn standard rear-hub motor e-bikes into fully functional cargo bikes. The kit allows users to carry heavy loads or transport passengers without having to purchase a dedicated e-cargo bike, offering a cost-effective solution for urban mobility.

The kit features a reinforced aluminum frame with additional ribs for durability, as well as a redesigned steering system that provides a wider turning angle for enhanced maneuverability. A waterproof phenolic plywood cargo box is included, capable of supporting up to 68 kilograms, and can accommodate safety belts for children. The total weight of the kit is 18.2 kilograms.

To ensure safe braking under load, the conversion kit comes equipped with two hydraulic disc brakes. It supports multiple axle diameters—9, 12, and 15 millimeters—including quick release, thru-axle, and Super Boost configurations. The kit mounts securely on the bottom bracket with a metal connection, while the fork remains smooth-running.

Argo offers a Quick Bolt option for tool-free removal, allowing users to disassemble the cargo bike into two parts for easier transport or storage. A rain cover is also available to protect passengers or cargo from wind, rain, and sun, which can be stowed under the cargo box when not in use.

The Argo Fy Cargo Bike Kit 2.0 is compatible with e-bikes featuring rear-wheel hub motors, straight or drop handlebars, a threaded bottom bracket with widths of 68, 73, 83, or 100 millimeters, and a lockable or rigid fork. Currently, mid-drive e-bikes are not supported, though Argo plans to provide a compatible solution by 2027. Customers can also request specific compatibility information for their bikes.

Priced at $1,199, the kit is expected to ship globally starting in December 2025. Argo positions the product as a practical and flexible option for riders seeking to expand their e-bike capabilities for urban deliveries, cargo transport, or family use, without the cost of purchasing a new e-cargo bike.
