American Honda posted U.S. vehicle sales of 1,430,577 units in 2025, its strongest performance since 2021, as record demand for electrified and hybrid models helped offset supply constraints and changing market conditions.
Electrified vehicle sales across the Honda and Acura lineups surpassed 400,000 units for the first time, driven by a third consecutive annual record in hybrid sales. American Honda said hybrids accounted for a growing share of deliveries across its core models, including the CR-V, Accord and Civic.

“Record sales of light trucks and electrified models helped achieve sales increases for the Honda and Acura brands in 2025, despite changes in market conditions and supply constraints,” said Lance Woelfer, vice president of auto sales at American Honda Motor Co. He added that close coordination across purchasing, production and sales teams helped the company manage late-year microchip shortages.
Within Honda’s portfolio, the CR-V remained the top-selling nameplate, exceeding 400,000 units for the second straight year, with hybrid variants accounting for about 54% of sales. Accord hybrid models represented more than half of Accord deliveries, while more than a third of Civic sales were hybrids, underscoring the shift in consumer preference toward electrified powertrains.

Battery-electric vehicle volumes also contributed to the electrified total. Honda sold nearly 40,000 units of the Prologue electric SUV in 2025, its first full year on sale, complementing the company’s expanding hybrid range.
Acura’s electrified performance was supported by growing sales of its gateway and SUV models, as improving supply conditions late in the year helped lift deliveries. The premium brand recorded annual sales of 133,433 units, up nearly 1% from 2024, with December marking its strongest month since May.
American Honda said the sales gains came despite leaner inventories in the fourth quarter, when microchip shortages constrained production. December sales totaled 118,659 vehicles.
