Alpine has unveiled the A310 Vision, a one-off design study commemorating 55 years of the original A310 sports car. Presented at the Paris Motor Show 2026, the concept combines styling elements from the historic model with design ideas intended for the brand’s electric performance vehicles.

Alpine introduced the original A310 in 1971 as a more comfort-oriented four-cylinder sports car alongside the rally-focused A110. The model later gained a V6 engine in 1976, while its wedge-shaped profile and distinctive front-end design became defining features of the nameplate.

The A310 Vision revisits those characteristics without serving as a preview of a confirmed production model. Alpine has said it does not plan to develop a new A310 for series production, and the design study does not include announced technical specifications.

Exterior Design Draws on the Original A310

The A310 Vision has a low silhouette measuring 1.18 metres in height, with a rear section that extends to 2.03 metres in width. Its proportions combine the relatively simple shape of the original four-cylinder A310 with the wider rear haunches of later V6 versions.

The wheel arches accommodate wheels featuring an A-shaped design inspired by the historic A310’s rims.

At the front, pop-up headlights reference the original model’s styling. S-duct openings in the bonnet and a central bridge are designed to manage airflow. The central element continues visually toward the rear, where it connects with a split rear wing.

Blade-shaped rear lights form another part of the design, with Alpine stating that they also contribute to aerodynamic performance and downforce.

Minimalist Interior Concept

The cabin is visible through a glass dome and features a predominantly red interior. Alpine describes the space as a living environment, with organically shaped seats and physical controls inspired by high-end hi-fi equipment.

However, the manufacturer has emphasized that the study focuses primarily on exterior design rather than presenting a fully developed production vehicle or detailed interior specification.

The Alpine Design team developed the concept, using the original A310 as a reference throughout the design process.

Connection to Alpine’s Electric Platform

Although the A310 Vision is a design study, it is based on the Alpine Performance Platform (APP), an aluminium modular architecture developed for electric sports cars.

The platform is intended to support Alpine’s transition into electric performance vehicles while addressing weight distribution, structural rigidity and flexibility in body design. It also allows for different powertrain configurations and battery sizes.

Alpine plans to use the APP for future production vehicles, with the electric A110 expected to become the first series-production model based on the architecture.

The A310 Vision therefore serves primarily as a design exploration of how Alpine’s historic sports-car identity could be interpreted in an electric era. The company has not announced a production timeline or technical performance figures for the concept.
