The Alpine A290, introduced in mid-June, is now available for configuration in Germany and France, with prices beginning at €38,700. Higher-spec versions can exceed €40,000.
The entry-level A290 GT is priced at €38,700 and delivers 130 kW of power. The A290 GT Premium, also with 130 kW, starts at €41,700. The A290 GT Performance and A290 GTS, both offering 160 kW, are priced from €41,900 and €44,700, respectively. In France, the A290 is eligible for a €4,000 rebate.
The A290 is based on the electric Renault 5, which has been available for order since late May, starting at €32,900. Both models share a 52 kWh battery. The less expensive Renault 5, with a 40 kWh battery priced at €24,900, will not be available until 2025. Alpine offers only the 52 kWh battery for the A290.
Alpine, Renault Group’s sports car brand, has customized the A290’s design with features like a four-light front and sporty elements such as Formula 1-inspired steering wheel switches. “The exclusive three-spoke sports steering wheel includes the RCH (for Recharge) rotary knob and the OV (for Overtake) button straight from the world of Formula 1 racing,” the manufacturer stated.
Standard features of the A290 include Michelin Sport EV tires, 19-inch alloy wheels, nappa leather steering wheel, heated front seats, tinted windows, automatic air conditioning, and ambient lighting. The GT Premium adds two-tone paintwork, a matt blue roofline, Brembo brake calipers in ‘Alpine Blue,’ and the ‘Alpine Drive Sound.’ The GT Performance includes additional features like red Brembo brake calipers and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. The top-tier A290 GTS combines the GT Premium’s equipment with the GT Performance’s increased power.
A limited special edition, the A290 Première Édition, will be launched at the end of the year, starting at €46,200. This edition will be available in four variants: Black Pearl, Pearlescent White two-tone, Bleue, and Grise. Only 1,955 units will be produced, marking the year Alpine was founded.
