Dutch charging infrastructure operator Allego has selected Ampeco to provide the backend software for its European charging network, with the migration covering more than 35,000 charging points across 16 countries.

The transition to Ampeco’s Charge Point Management System (CPMS) is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2026.

According to Ampeco, the migration will also include approximately 1.3 million charging sessions each month, more than 200,000 registered electric vehicle drivers and over 60 active roaming connections.

Platform Selected Through Competitive Tender

Allego said it chose Ampeco following a formal tender process that assessed potential suppliers on migration experience, compliance with industry standards and their ability to integrate with the company’s existing software and hardware infrastructure.

Norbert Teichmann, IT Director at Allego, said:

“The platform did not just look good on paper, it demonstrated depth across the core CPMS capabilities needed to operate and scale a large charging network, which gave us confidence that it could support both current and future requirements.”

Ampeco’s hardware-agnostic, API-based platform will allow Allego to integrate its existing operational systems while supporting future expansion.

Under the agreement, Ampeco will manage standards compliance, hardware integration, maintenance, roaming and billing processes, and partner integrations.

Christian Zeh, Chief Operating Officer at Allego, said:

“Partnering with AMPECO gives us a modern, future-proof platform that allows us to focus on what matters most: delivering an exceptional charging experience for every driver who uses our network.”

Expanded Integration Capabilities

The migration also provides Allego with access to the Ampeco Marketplace, which offers pre-built integrations covering payment services, fleet management, smart charging and energy services.

Ampeco said its platform is currently used by more than 200 charging infrastructure operators in over 70 markets and that it has already migrated more than 120,000 charging points onto its software.

Separate From Allego’s Customer App

The new CPMS platform is separate from Allego’s customer-facing mobility service provider (MSP) operations.

In 2025, Allego partnered with Deftpower to develop a new MSP platform, followed by the launch of a redesigned Allego mobile application in 2026 that provides drivers access to approximately one million charging points across Europe through roaming agreements.

While Deftpower and the Allego app continue to manage customer access and roaming services, Ampeco will be responsible for the backend operation of Allego’s charging infrastructure.
