Apple unveiled its CarPlay software last year, offering enhanced features and deeper integration with vehicles. The company has now revealed that the first 14 car brands set to receive the new software by the end of this year include Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, Volvo.
CarPlay’s multi-display support is a standout feature that extends beyond the primary infotainment screen. Apple has stated that the screen layout and shape will be designed specifically for each vehicle to enhance the user experience.

In addition to extending beyond the main infotainment screen, CarPlay will also integrate with the instrument cluster, allowing users to choose from different designs and layouts, with some options tailored to specific manufacturers. The software will also encompass climate control and a brand new FM Radio app, offering a seamless driving experience.
CarPlay’s latest feature is the introduction of widgets, which enable users to view important information at a glance, such as fuel economy, trip duration, calendar events, weather, and phone calls. With these advanced features, CarPlay is set to transform the way drivers interact with their cars.
