Audi has unveiled a new base version of its Q4 e-tron, the Q4 40 e-tron, which comes with a larger 63 kWh battery (59 kWh net), replacing the previous Q4 35 e-tron. The new version offers improved performance and extended range, further strengthening Audi’s electric vehicle lineup.
The Q4 35 e-tron featured a 55 kWh gross (52 kWh net) battery and a 125 kW electric motor, providing WLTP ranges of up to 365 km for the Sportback and 355 km for the SUV.

With the upgraded 59 kWh net battery in the Q4 40 e-tron, Audi now claims a range of up to 412 km, with the Sportback variant reaching 423 km. The new model is equipped with a more powerful 150 kW electric motor, delivering 310 Nm of torque, replacing the older 125 kW version.

Under optimal conditions, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes, with 150 km of range (155 km for the Sportback) replenished in just 10 minutes. In terms of driving performance, the Q4 40 e-tron accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, while the smaller ID.3 Pro achieves this in 7.3 seconds.

The new Q4 e-tron models also feature advanced battery preconditioning. In addition to automatic preconditioning when a charging stop is scheduled, drivers can now manually activate battery preheating through the MMI system. This ensures optimal charging performance at every station.
Audi has also integrated a predictive maintenance feature into the ‘myAudi’ app, allowing users to track the condition of key components such as brake pads, the 12-volt battery, and the expiry date of the first aid kit.

This isn’t just misleading. It’s wrong. To say it comes with a larger battery is just plain incorrect. The existing q4 40 has an 82kWh battery. How is 63 larger than 82? If it’s a replacement for the 35, call it the 35.
