Orense-based logistics provider Planway Logística has expanded its fleet with 22 Fuso eCanter electric trucks, which will be deployed as part of Correos, Spain’s national postal service. The addition demonstrates the growing adoption of zero-emission vehicles in urban logistics.
Daimler Truck revealed that Planway Logística opted for the largest variant of the eCanter, with a gross vehicle weight of 8.55 tonnes and a wheelbase of 4.45 meters. This configuration is the highest available among the eCanter’s five weight classes (3.5 to 8.55 tonnes) and six wheelbase options (2.50 to 4.75 meters).
The trucks are equipped with the L battery pack, featuring three 41.3 kWh modules, providing a range of up to 200 kilometers. This makes them ideal for inner-city distribution and last-mile delivery operations.
The eCanter’s specifications align with the operational needs of Planway Logística, offering a 129 kW output, flexibility in charging options, and the capacity to carry up to 15 euro-pallets. “The fact that Planway Logística, another major logistics company, has opted for the Next Generation eCanter shows once again that the all-electric light-duty truck is ideal for inner-city distribution traffic,” said Florian Schulz, Head of Sales, Marketing & Customer Services for FUSO Europe.
Produced in Tramagal, Portugal, the eCanters benefit from their proximity to Orense, located near the Portuguese border. This logistical advantage, combined with the vehicle’s high payload and range capabilities, positions the eCanter as a viable solution for sustainable urban transport.
