At the Euro Bus Expo in Birmingham, Turkish manufacturer Karsan unveiled the right-hand drive version of its e-Jest electric minibus, marking the model’s official market launch in the UK.
The debut is part of Karsan’s expansion into the British market through an exclusive sales partnership with EVM.
The e-Jest, which has already achieved success in Europe and North America with over 700 units sold, now enters the UK market with a right-hand drive variant.
The model has also been introduced in Japan at the end of 2023. Both the right-hand and left-hand drive versions of the e-Jest are powered by a 135 kW motor, offering up to 290 Nm of torque. The vehicle’s six-metre body houses an 88 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 210 kilometers. Charging capabilities include 80 kW DC or 22 kW AC.
Deniz Çetin, CCO of Karsan, emphasized the model’s success, stating, “Karsan e-JEST has been the leader of its segment in Europe for four consecutive years. After launching the right-hand drive version in Japan, e-JEST is now on the road in the UK and Ireland. Our future targets include Malta and Australia.” The e-Jest aims to strengthen Karsan’s position in the electric vehicle market, offering sustainable mobility solutions for public and private transport networks.
