Inchcape+, the official distributor for BYD commercial trucks in Singapore, has secured an order for 100 units of BYD’s electric T9R trucks, marking the largest electric truck fleet purchase in the country to date. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
The BYD T9R is a 26 to 28-tonne electric truck designed for a range of applications including refuse collection, construction, and urban logistics. The T9R variant features BYD’s advanced 301.7kWh Blade Battery, providing a range of up to 320 kilometers. The truck is equipped with fast-charging capabilities, able to recharge from 20% to 80% in about one hour, thanks to its 180 kW charging capacity.
This milestone order was finalized during the Singapore International Transportation and Commercial Expo (SITCE) 2024 and highlights Inchcape+’s commitment to the Singapore Green Plan 2030, which aims to transition all vehicles in Singapore to cleaner energy by the decade’s end. Li Zhengxi, director of commercial vehicles at Inchcape Singapore, emphasized the significance of the order in advancing sustainable mobility. “This milestone order signifies a significant achievement in our pursuit of sustainable commercial mobility and reinforces our commitment to pioneering green energy solutions,” Li stated.
The deal also underscores Inchcape+’s role in driving the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Singapore’s commercial sector as part of a broader effort to reduce carbon emissions and promote green energy solutions for the future.
