LiveWire, the electric motorcycle company spun off from Harley-Davidson, has unveiled plans to expand its lineup with an electric maxi-scooter built on its versatile S2 Arrow platform. The maxi-scooter, designed for comfortable highway travel, will leverage the performance of LiveWire’s existing powertrain, which includes a structural battery, electric motor, and associated control hardware.
The S2 Arrow platform, first introduced with the LiveWire S2 Del Mar and later adapted for the S2 Mulholland, is now being used for LiveWire’s ambitious maxi-scooter project, slated for release in the first half of 2026. KYMCO, a leading Taiwanese scooter manufacturer and early investor in LiveWire, will play a key role in the development of the scooter. The partnership is designed to combine LiveWire’s electric technology with KYMCO’s extensive experience in the scooter market.
“LiveWire is an iconic leader in electric solutions for urban mobility,” said KYMCO Chairman Allen Ko. “We are excited to partner with them as LiveWire embarks on the development of an S2-based electric maxi-scooter.”
The collaboration between LiveWire and KYMCO has already produced results with the redesign of the KYMCO RevoNEX electric motorcycle, which is also based on the S2 Arrow platform. As LiveWire’s electric maxi-scooter becomes the latest addition to the platform, it marks the continued expansion of both companies’ efforts to create a broad range of electric two-wheelers, targeting a younger, more urban-focused audience.
LiveWire’s approach to branding, which distinguishes itself from Harley-Davidson’s traditional image, aligns with the growing demand for electric vehicles that merge lifestyle and practical commuting needs. While the electric maxi-scooter is still in its development phase, early responses to concept images have been largely positive, underscoring the company’s shifting identity and continued innovation in the electric motorcycle market.
