Lucid posted its second consecutive month of record electric vehicle (EV) registrations in Germany, bolstering its presence in a market dominated by luxury brands such as Porsche and BMW. The U.S.-based luxury EV maker registered 129 new vehicles in October, a significant increase from 41 in September, according to Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).

Despite Germany’s overall EV market seeing a 5% year-over-year drop in registrations in October, Lucid’s figures show notable gains. The company recorded a total of 256 new registrations in Germany through October, surpassing its entire third-quarter sales. The recent expansion includes a new showroom in Hamburg, which opened last month, following another in Frankfurt.

Lucid has four showrooms across Germany and eight throughout Europe as it scales its presence overseas. In October, Lucid signed an agreement with car rental company SIXT, adding its high-end Air sedan to SIXT’s fleet in Germany. Former Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson highlighted the model’s versatility, noting it is “equally at home on the Autobahn as on city streets.”

The luxury EV maker has priced its entry-level Air Pure in Germany at around €85,000 ($93,000), boasting a range of 747 km (464 miles) under the WLTP standard. Lucid’s higher-end Air Touring and Air Grand Touring models are priced at €99,000 ($108,200) and €129,000 ($141,000), respectively.

Lucid has expanded its service network across 15 European markets, including France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the automaker is preparing for the launch of its first electric SUV, the Gravity, with orders opening on November 7, 2024.
