French startup Mob-Ion has officially launched its newest electric scooter, the AM1 which has received certification from the Association Franaise de Normalization (AFNOR).
To be AFNOR certified, Mob-Ion AM1 has at least 50 percent local content and must be produced in France.
The Mob-Ion AM1 comes with a battery made in Artigues-prs-Bordeaux. Meanwhile, in the suburbs of Nantes, all the electronic systems surrounding the battery and powertrain are made and manufactured there.
Overall, about 70 percent of all electric scooter components are manufactured in France. With the addition of several production lines, Mob-ion plans to increase this percentage in the coming years.
From a technological point of view, this L1e certified electric scooter belongs to the category of mopeds, driven by a motor with a nominal output of 3 kW. It is powered by two under-saddle batteries that give it a range of up to 121 miles.
The battery can also be fully charged in just two and a half hours. The AM1 is equipped with a reverse gear and GPS system, as well as an anti-theft feature that allows the user to remotely disable the scooter from a smartphone or computer.
AM1 is available for rent for a monthly subscription fee of 99 Euros. If you really like scooters and want one for yourself, they cost around 3,582.84 Euros.
